A few months ago, he was diagnosed with stage two prostate cancer.
This was a shock to our family and friends, and after some consultations, we found out that his condition can be curable if the surgery is done right away. In the Ukraine this type of surgery is not available, so he is staying with me in Seattle.
I started to contact various doctors and cancer organizations across US. Our family was very fortunate to find an amazing doctor in US willing to perform this operation on my father. His name is Dr. Arnon Krongrad, and he is a pioneer in prostate surgery treatments. Although he is doing what he can to keep the costs as low as possible, much of the hospital and laboratory costs are beyond his control. The total cost of the surgery,
including testing and hospitalization are estimated at $32,700. (Half of the cost of doing the surgery in Seattle.)
Without help, I cannot raise this much money in a few short weeks. It is a race against time for my dad, and he needs prostate surgery right away in order for cancer not to spread to his other organs. He was very lucky to receive a US Visa, and now that we have Dr. Krongrad and his wonderful team on our side, we trying to raise enough money to have the operation performed.
Any financial donation, even as small as $20, will help my dad. I am asking for your help in
spreading the word and donating money so that together we can save his life, and allow him to continue saving the lives of others. Here is an article about him and his work.
Please note that your money goes directly into an account set up by a hospital where my father will receive treatment and since it is a charity account, everything you donate is tax deductible and the foundation will send you a receipt/conformation by mail or/and email.
Once/if the needed amount is reached, fundraising efforts will stop
and we will let you know of our success.
